Join Our Board: Director Opportunity

The Centre for Effective Practice (CEP) is a nationally recognized not-for-profit that helps healthcare clinicians navigate complex clinical practice. We bring together knowledge, evidence, expertise, and resources to ensure clinicians have the tools and solutions they need to deliver high-quality care and improve patients' health outcomes.  CEP has been recognized as one of the 50 best workplaces in Canada.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Board of Directors.

Who We’re Looking For
As we continue to evolve and expand our impact in the Canadian healthcare system, we are particularly looking for a new board member with experience with start-ups, fundraising, scaling/growth, and digital health innovation.

You are a seasoned professional with experience navigating the challenges of early-stage growth, identifying, and securing funding opportunities, and bringing digital health solutions to market. You are passionate about improving health outcomes and supporting clinicians with evidence-based tools and innovation.

CEP is committed to diversity, accessibility, inclusion and equity and encourages qualified individuals of all genders and sexual orientations, Indigenous communities, racialized groups and persons with disabilities to apply.

Why Join CEP’s Board?
With a strong foundation and an ambitious strategic direction, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of primary care support in Canada.

As a Board Director, you will:

  • Help shape the future of a growing, mission-driven organization.
  • Engage with health system leaders and innovators across the country.
  • Contribute to national transformation in how evidence and innovation support care.
  • Provide guidance as CEP expands its impact through digital health, team-based care, and innovation-driven strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support organizational governance and contribute to CEP’s long-term success.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance on CEP’s digital growth and fundraising strategies.
  • Share insights on scaling impact and innovation within healthcare.

Commitment:

  • This is a volunteer role with a 3-year term (renewable).
  • The board meets quarterly (2-hour meetings), with one in-person meeting (in Toronto).
  • Directors are expected to contribute their expertise, ask thoughtful questions, and support CEP’s mission and long-term sustainability.

If you’re interested in bringing your expertise to a high-impact, purpose-driven organization, we would love to hear from you.
